Ten Ways Common Sense is Making a Comeback in America

Is common sense making a comeback? You might not think so if you go by the headlines.

Like the embarrassing behavior of our California governor at the World Economic Forum, an idiotic mob wreaking havoc in Minnesota to prevent the arrest of a child predator and other criminals. Some officials there seem to hope that the sheer magnitude of the chaos will cover up the billions of taxpayer funds lost to fraud in that state’s widespread corruption. Chaos reigns in Iran, and more misguided protesters recently wailed at the arrest of the evil Venezuelan dictator, Nicolas Maduro. So. Much. Drama.

But remember, if it bleeds, it leads. That’s not all that’s happening.

We’re here to celebrate a whole lot of good news, riding a surge of common sense returning to America. The media may not be interested, but Americans are living it. After the dark years of 2021-2024, our nation is making a comeback – of American pride, prosperity, and common sense.

Here are ten ways this encouraging trend is taking shape.

1. The Return of Military Might

The simple yet powerful idea of peace through strength undergirds the revitalization of our military. Gone are the days of DEI reigning in the ranks of our fighting men and women. Secretary Pete Hegseth and team have ousted transgender soldiering, DEI’s false equity, and replaced it with lethality, strength, honor, discipline, and patriotism.

In recent weeks, we’ve seen our military crush drug cartel smugglers by sea. A surgically precise raid in Venezuela that removed a dictator and left her citizens celebrating in the streets. And our military precision was on full display for the world when our brave US Air Force and Navy attacked three military facilities in Iran in a mission called Operation Midnight Hammer.

Seems like an obvious move to strengthen and arm the military, commonsense, really. Quite a contrast to the way our fighting forces and military hardware had been sorely neglected previously.

2. Valuing Law Enforcement Again

After years of being disparaged by protesters, elected officials, and the media, state and local law enforcement found a friend in President Trump. As Americans, we owe a considerable debt to the men and women who dedicate themselves to keeping our communities safe. While we can never repay them, the president is doing what he can.

In addition to providing legal defense and resources for officers wrongly targeted in lawsuits, he has ordered increased training and strategy resources to empower law enforcement officers in the fight against crime. He also signed an executive order to increase their pay and benefits.

One of the keys to safety in our nation is having a right-sized police force, after the folly of those who sought to defund during the Biden administration. It only makes sense to honor and provide for those brave men and women who put their lives on the line for their fellow citizens, you and me.

3. Unleashing American Energy

Biden had some of the worst energy policies ever. Through various tactics, he discouraged drilling and the development of our power grid. He drained our strategic fuel reserves and spent untold billions on “green” schemes.

Windmills won’t ever solve our energy issues. Everybody pretty much knows that at this point. Paying $4.50 (or more) per gallon of gas didn’t fix hurricanes or wildfires. Commonsense is back.

President Trump has prioritized unleashing American energy to provide ample fuel at reasonable prices. $1.89 per gallon, anyone? He also has a keen understanding of the growing energy needs related to AI. According to WhiteHouse.gov, under Trump, “approval timelines were accelerated to expand oil, natural gas, coal, and nuclear capacity.” Which promises to lower Americans’ power bills, provide high-paying energy jobs, and renew “American dominance…in oil and gas production. Drill, baby, drill!

4. Safeguarding Women’s Sports

We shared about the Supreme Court cases heard a couple of weeks ago, which promise to finally provide lasting protection for girls and women in sports in certain states. For several years now, it’s been as if common sense was suspended so that biological men could have their way in women’s competitions.

Weak men who did not excel against their biological counterparts found success by competing with women instead. It was shockingly illogical as the Left claimed it to be a sort of civil rights issue, with poor men who were living a transgender lifestyle as its victims. Women and girls lost their places on teams, in championships, and on award podiums because guys took their places. What happened to women’s rights? Your guess is as good as mine.

The vast majority of Americans – at least 80% – favor protecting women’s sports, and legal experts suspect that the Justices will find in favor of women, with common sense making a much-needed comeback in sports.

5. Faith Flourishing Again

During the Pandemic, there was a subtle attack against churches. They were shuttered for months by government edict, with some never reopening. After 2020, a sizable percentage of churchgoers did not return when in-person services resumed.

Now, with President Trump’s faith-friendly agenda, Americans have begun to take an interest in biblical truth once more – driven by young people and massive baptism services on college campuses, including a noteworthy 16-day revival at Asbury University.

Then came the tragic loss of Charlie Kirk. Known as an articulate advocate for conservatism and President Trump’s MAGA agenda, Kirk was probably most passionate about his faith. In the wake of his assassination, social media exploded with those who were bingeing Charlie’s videos and learning from his life. Thousands filmed themselves talking about rediscovering faith and returning to church. Some for the first time in years. Bible sales are up – and congregations are seeing young people become passionate about Biblical truth amid a troubled popular culture.

Christianity has always been central to American values – and putting it on the back burner just hasn’t worked. That’s why commonsense is inviting Americans to rediscover its founding faith.

6. Protecting Kids from Transgender Madness

When it came to the mutilation of children through sex-rejecting medical treatments, President Trump didn’t play around. On day one of the Trump administration, he declared that America would only recognize two genders – male and female. Shocking that a declaration of that biological fact was needed. Then, a week later, he signed an Executive Order, “Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation.”

It would be common sense not to sterilize our young and to instead encourage natural biological development. But in the US, especially during the Biden years, educators, activists, biased media, and government agencies paved the way for barbaric treatment of our kids.

Trump took immediate action to defend America’s children, and moms applauded his no-nonsense, pro-science approach to protecting the next generation.

No, men can’t get pregnant. Deal with it.

7. Border Security

The border’s closed. Trump took care of that in the first few days of 2025. It wasn’t rocket science – but you wouldn’t know it if you heard the excuses and half-truths of his predecessor. First, they claimed the border was secure, as we watched video after video of thousands pouring into our nation. Then, they claimed it couldn’t be stopped without Congress taking action. It was a sort of dog-ate-my-homework approach to conjuring an excuse from midair.

We know that now. It took days, without any congressional action, to secure things.

Now, despite a massive media campaign filled with leftist “journalists” giving slanted news and paid protestors screaming and flailing about, deportations of criminal illegal aliens are underway. It makes sense, right? Biden let them pour in with no realistic plans or infrastructure to care for the millions who flood our cities. So, they are being removed now. Not soon enough for Americans who have suffered, died, or lost loved ones to criminals here illegally, but it’s underway. In time, America will stand ready to receive immigrants who apply and come here the right way – but for now, commonsense is to continue the deportation strategy that got this President elected.

8. Prosperity for Everyday Americans

As Americans prepare to file taxes this year, there will be some pleasant surprises. Experts predict larger tax refunds due to the increased standard deduction, the expanded child tax credit, and, of course, no tax on tips.

The White House predicts that the One Big Beautiful Bill will boost American incomes by about $10,000 per family.

Most of us are seeing gas and grocery prices drop, even as early naysayers predicted that Trump’s tariff policy would cost Americans dearly. In fact, there’s talk of Americans receiving a rebate from the nearly $300 billion in tariff revenue. Our military already saw some of that tariff surplus in a Christmas gift, the “Warrior Dividend,” which, in December, provided $1,776 for each service member in our armed forces.

The President is enacting some truly sensible economic policy, and we’re starting to see its fruit.

9. Dismantling Drug Trafficking

Hundreds of thousands of Americans have died as a result of fentanyl and tainted pills, which have flooded our cities. If you’ve paid attention to the president’s priorities, you know that he abhors the meaningless loss of life through crime, war, and illegal drugs.

He’s serious about stopping the flow of deadly fentanyl. Just ask those driving the speed boats that attempted to bring drugs to America’s shores. One by one, our military ended them in spectacular fashion. President Trump designated fentanyl as a “Weapon of Mass Destruction,” and Cartels as “Foreign Terrorist Organizations and Specially Designated Global Terrorists.”

It is a fight for American lives, so of course it is a battle we must win. And if President Trump has his way, we will.

10. America First Again

Patriotism is back. Red hats, the Stars and Stripes flying from homes, boats, and pick-up trucks. We are here for it!

And this year the party is on. It’s America 250, commemorating the two and a half centuries since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. All we can say is get to Hobby Lobby early for the best selection of party gear and décor because Americans will be rolling out the red, white, and blue as never before!

In our nation’s capital, the festivities will be ongoing all year and include concerts, National Mall and Washington Monument projections, tours of historic sites, and a planned UFC fight on the grounds of the White House. And that’s just the beginning.

We are pulling out all the stops this year, too, as Moms for America tours every state throughout the year, gathering moms to celebrate the glory and rich history of this wonderful land. We hope to see you.

So much more could be written about common sense change that is making America bold, proud, and great again. Don’t lose heart when you see someone with pink hair screaming into their camera on TikTok or writhing in the street to protect criminals from arrest. There is more good happening than the headlines would have you believe.
